Permits, technical standards and required approvals should be confirmed with competent local professionals before the design is finalised. Assumptions should be recorded and updated as information becomes available.
Designing for transport
Module dimensions, the road route, customs procedures, protective packaging and available crane capacity may change the preferred module size and installation sequence. Logistics therefore belongs in the early design stage.
A clear responsibility matrix
Define who provides foundations, utilities, lifting equipment, local labour, accommodation and final inspections. A written matrix reduces information loss across borders and supports a more reliable programme.
